Did you know Father’s Day originated in the USA? In 1910 local resident Sonora Smart Dodd wanted to honour her kind Father who had single-handedly raised his six children, so suggested a day dedicated to Fathers. We can’t wait to honour the wonderful Dad’s in salon this year!
Father’s Day was first celebrated in America – back in 1910! Although times have changed since then, the message remains the same; let’s honour our wonderful Fathers! Why not treat them this year to XXXX.
The word ‘Dad’ has apparently been around since the 1500s. It is thought that it originated from baby talk i.e. Da Da. Whilst we can’t remember when we first said Da Da, we do remember how amazing our Dads have been throughout our lives. We can’t wait to spoil them in salon this year.

In 1972 President Nixon decided to make Father’s Day a national holiday (under law) on the third Sunday of June every year. Hooray for Fathers! Our special Dads deserve a day dedicated to them so we’ll be celebrating in salon next week.
