What do you want the second half of 2026 to look like?

Can you believe we’re almost halfway through 2026 already?

Before we know it, we’ll be talking autumn promotions, Christmas bookings and where the salon year went!

Which got me thinking as I sat on a ferry back from France last week…

If the first half of the year has taught us anything, it’s that things can change quickly.

Bookings are unpredictable. Retail feels flat. Costs are shooting up.

And uncertainty is what makes salon owners twitchy and stressed… probably more than almost anything else. Most salon owners can handle hard work. What they struggle with is not knowing what’s coming next.

👉 So as we head into the second half of 2026, now feels like a good time to look ahead.

Not a crystal ball.

Just a clearer sense of where your salon business opportunities and risks might be hiding.

Salon growth often hides in small gaps

When many salon owners think about growth, they imagine big campaigns, major promotions or finding lots of new clients.

And, of course, growth often comes from those things.

But… often it comes from spotting small issues before they become bigger ones.

Let me give you some ideas:

✅ A quiet Tuesday that could be filled with a simple booking prompt.
✅ Retail sales that could improve with a little more team focus.
✅ Clients heading off on holiday without their next appointment booked.
✅ A team member who needs a confidence boost when recommending services.

None of these things are dramatic. But they can have a significant impact on your salon business growth and profit over time.

One thing to do this week…

Pick ONE ‘wobbly’ area. Just one.

Then ask:

‘What small action could we take now, before this turns into a bigger problem?’

  • A quick email.
  • An in-salon reminder.
  • A booking prompt.
  • A team conversation.
  • A retail focus for the week.

Nothing fancy. Just one proactive action.

Because the salon owners who head into autumn and Christmas feeling most in control aren’t usually the ones doing the most. They’re the ones spotting the ‘wobble’ early and taking action before it becomes a bigger problem.

And if there’s one thing I’d encourage you to do at this halfway point of the year, it’s that.

Take a look ahead. Spot those ‘wobbles’. And start strengthening the second half of 2026 now.
